One accessory that any mobile device user should have is a portable battery charger. I’ve used lots of different types in the past with my favorites being the larger capacity batteries that have output for both phone and tablet charging. As an added bonus, there are some batteries that come equipped with both a wall plug and pre-installed cables. These are my absolute favorite because it means you don’t need extra cables for it to work. You can just grab your battery and your device and go. The HubPlus from myCharge falls into my favorite category.
The myCharge HubPlus is a 6,700 mAh battery with quick charge capabilities. What makes it stand out from other 6,700 mAh batteries is its built-in wall prongs and integrated Lightning and Micro USB cables. The body of the HubPlus is made of anodized aluminum, which makes it a lovely companion to Apple products. It’s a lightweight(8 ounces) portable battery considering its charging capacity and can charge three devices simultaneously. The output of the Lightning and Micro USB cables is 3.4 A(shared) and is enough output power to charge a tablet.
Before I even started charging my phone, I was immediately taken with the label on the front of the package that said “Pre-Charged”. Most batteries I’ve come across have some charge to them out of the box, but not 100% charged. This battery pack is fully charged. This is ideal for travelers. How many times have you been wandering through an airport with 5% battery left on your phone? You go to the gift shop and purchase a battery pack only to find it too needs to be charged. The myCharge HubPlus doesn’t have that problem. In fact, it is the solution to the problem.
I have to admit that this is my first ever myCharge product to review and I’m extremely happy with it and look forward to reviewing the myCharge AmpMax that they also sent me along with this myCharge HubPlus.
Overall I’m very happy with the myCharge HubPlus and could definitely use this while out at events such as ComicCon, CES or many other things. It’s definitely small enough and light weight enough that I could slide it into my pocket if need be, but definitely easy to carry around in a backpack or something similar with other tech devices which is something I normally always have on me any way.
The price of the myCharge HubPlus might seem a bit expensive at $79.99 but you have to remember that you’re getting 6,700 mAh of charging power that can charge up to 3 devices at one time plus it has prongs on it that allows you to plug it into the wall and charge the device itself while it charges your other devices. Factor all of that in and that $79.99 is a very hard price to beat at that point.
