The Moshi SenseCover for the Galaxy S6 is a pretty cool little case that will make your life a little bit easier and look good while doing it. Moshi is known for making pretty high quality products the evolution of the SenseCover has been pretty drastic from when I took a look at the iPhone 6 version. Now in combination with an on board app, the SenseCover adds functionality to your phone and is a pretty case to boot. In this review we’re going to take a look at the features it advertises and how well the case can stand on its own.

The SenseCover is a folio style case that has a soft TPU case to hold your phone in place and a smooth leatherette cover that has a kind of metallic finish. It feels good to the touch but nothing like metal or leather. On the front of the folio cover is a large cut out so you can see the screen, and that’s where the fun begins. The SenseCover app makes the windowed cut out a place where you can perform many actions without opening up your case and exposing it to the elements.

Whether it’s answering a call or turning off your wifi, the app intelligently realizes if your case is open or closed to produce your SenseCover screen or your regular lock screen. When the case is closed you’ll have the option to answer an incoming call, you can see the date and quickly access the camera. If you swipe up from the bottom of the SenseCover window you get toggles for the flashlight, wifi, bluetooth, music and settings. The settings toggle takes you to the SenseCover app settings, not the phone settings. In this screen you can deactivate the app, turn text message preview off and change your wallpaper. One of the only things I don’t care for is the persistent notification but I think that’s more of an Android limitation than a limitation of the app.

By itself, the case is very good. It has a nice feel to it with the metallic leatherette look on the outside and the inner inside shell is soft enough to protect your phone from scratches and falls while not damaging the phone itself. The front of the case is going to protect your phone from scratches as well and while the magnet holding it closed isn’t incredibly strong I feel like it does the job pretty well. You get the added bonus that this case makes it really easy to sit your phone in landscape to view media. With a screen as beautiful as the one on the Galaxy S6, that’s definitely something I’ve been using a lot.

Moshi Sensecover S6

The Moshi SenseCover is a really nice case by a company that focusses on design as well as function. If you’re looking for an everyday case that will protect your phone and fit in well in business meetings or anywhere else, this may be the case for you.
