I’ve reviewed a lot of headphones and earbuds over the past couple of years including my most recent ones, the Munitio NINES that cost upwards of $100. It’s rare that I’m sent a pair of earbuds that cost $9.99 and asked to do a review. However, MEElectronics just recently did that because my contact with them stated that they are very confident in their product that even at $10 they can hang with a pair of earbuds that cost a lot more. What I’m going to review today is the MEElectronics M9 Classic earbuds that you can literally pick up for $9.99.
Specs And Packaging
The packaging is quite simple. It’s nothing more than just a very small cardboard box just big enough to hold the MEElectronics M9 Classic earbuds and a little plastic bag full of 3 different sized ear tips which are useful for those of us like myself who might have smaller ear canals and find the large ear tips uncomfortable. That’s literally all there is to the packaging, which is one big reason why the pricing is so low for these earbuds.
I personally like this idea as it possibly means that there is more time and money spent on the actual product itself, to make it look and feel better as well sound better, hopefully. This is where MEElectronics has certainly won me over, especially with the M9 Classic earbuds.
Design And Form Factor
The design of the MEElectronics M9 Classic earbuds are simple and easy. They are a molded plastic that are very light weight which helps when keeping earbuds in your ears for long periods of time. The ear tips are a soft, smooth plastic that comes in 4 different sizes for all various sized ear canals so that most everyone can find a comfortable fit.
The wiring is small yet sturdy and doesn’t get twisted very easily and is long enough to not have to worry about accidentally yanking it out of the mobile device in which it’s plugged into.
Speaking of the wires and the plug, this happens to be my only dislike to the MEElectronics M9 Classic earbuds. The audio jack that plugs into your mobile device is an L shape, instead of a straight connection. While I know these earbuds are a bit older, this is still something that I don’t like to see in a set of headphones/earbuds, as it’s just one of those little annoying things that I don’t like.
This doesn’t change the sound quality of the MEElectronics M9 Classic earbuds in any way, so don’t let that deter you from purchasing these earbuds.
This is always the most important part when reviewing earbuds, headphones or some kind of speaker system so let’s get to it.
For $9.99, if you are like me, probably don’t expect much from these earbuds as far as good or even decent sound quality. I picked them up the first time thinking the same thing, but once I had them in my ears and the music playing, I was totally shocked.
The bass is strong and the mids and highs are crystal clear. I say that regardless of what kind of music I was listening to as I checked out the sound quality while listening to a bit of Papa Roach, Sixx A.M., Carrie Underwood and even some throwback music from the 80’s and was impressed all around.
First and foremost, MEElectronics has provided us with a few pair of earbuds/headphones over the past couple of years and every pair have been awesome to use up to this point and the MEElectronics M9 Classic earbuds don’t disappoint either.
The price is the most amazing thing once you’ve listened to the product. If you didn’t know the price ahead of time, you’d never guess that the MEElectronics M9 Classic earbuds will only set you back $9.99.
The sound quality is amazing, and is right up there with some of the more expensive earbuds that I’ve tested along the way. Definitely worth picking up a set for a younger child who you might be worried about not taking care of them properly or if you just want something cheap to take to on the bus or train while on the way to work.
