I’ve tried a lot of different energy drinks over the years that claim to do this and do that and whatever else. For me personally, most don’t work. All they are is some kind of flavored nastiness though some are very good. Enter BetaNOX, something new that I got word of via email and at first I was very skeptical about. I figured it was just another energy drink like the rest. And the question is, is it or does it actually work?

  • Dramatically reduces lactic acid build up
  • Argisol opens your blood vessels allowing a much larger volume of blood to flow to muscle groups you are training

Now that we have all of the necessary warnings and informational pieces out of the way, let’s get to what BetaNOX is all about. BetaNOX is scientifically engineered for sustained endurance, improved performance and mental focus. It contains: Arginine, BETA Alanine, B Vitamins and Citrulline and then of course flavoring to come up with Berry Lemon Blast and Citrus Blast flavors that are both currently available.

BetaNOX comes in a 3.8 fl oz tube and you can purchase a case of 12 for around $33.51 for the Berry Lemon Blast flavor, though the Citrus Blast flavor seems to be a few dollars cheaper for some strange reason.

BetaNox contains B6 and B12 vitamins which help enhance focus and boost metabolism. B6 and B12 improve memory and focus by creating a protective shield for the neurons in the brain. These vitamins break down homocysteine, which is an amino acid that is a toxic poison to nerve cells. B6 & B12 also aid in the production of red blood cells, which carry oxygen, an important brain nutrient.

Beta Alanine is a naturally occurring beta-amino acid that reduces lactic acid, which is the main contributing factor to muscle soreness. Less lactic acid in your muscles allows you to run that extra mile or push out those last few reps.

Citrulline reduces muscle fatigue by removing ammonia in muscles. This clearing allows the body to recover from a workout and frees ATP energy (adenosine triphosphate – the universal energy currency for metabolism). This allows you to run further, lift more, and play harder.

Arginine is a vasodilator, meaning it widens blood vessels, increasing blood flow throughout your body. Arginine provides you with a NITRIC OXIDE (N.O.) rush that will give you that extra boost to get great muscle pumps. This (N.O.) rush provides that tingly feeling that lets you know BetaNox is working.

The first BetaNOX I decided to drink was the Berry Lemon Blast, mainly because I’m not a fan of orange flavored anything. I don’t like orange juice, Orange Crush soda or anything else but of course I drank the Citrus Blast flavor a day or so later. For me, BetaNOX actually did something. I drank it on around 4pm in the afternoon on a day that I was really dragging. I felt like I had absolutely no energy to get up and do anything. Not a sick feeling or anything like that, just drained.

Again, as I stated above, I’ve drank many energy drinks such as Monster Energy, Red Bull, Rockstar and others and none of them ever do anything. BetaNOX however, within a matter of about 5 – 10 minutes, I actually had a bit of energy and felt like I wanted to get up and do something. I didn’t feel like I had drank a glass of water or iced tea or anything similar, and this is very different for me when it comes to these types of drinks.

The Berry Lemon Blast flavor was very sour, but not overly sour to a point where it was difficult to drink. It was a good sour in my opinion and something I’d actually drink again. The drink seemed to last for an hour or so. After that hour or so was up, I didn’t feel like a had been run over by a truck either. I felt back to normal with little to no drag in my step and wanting to do things.
