With IFA Berlin happening this week, there are a lot of new things being released and talk about ahead of the show and we’ve had our inboxes filling up with all sorts of great, good and often strange things that are or will be available soon. Today however, it seems that Acer has introduced us to their first ever gaming tablet called the Predator 8 which will be running Android 5.1.

Now when I think of a gaming tablet, I simply think of a tablet with some amazing specs good enough to play some high end mobile games since mobile gaming is only getting more and more in-depth as technology grows. What Acer has shown us with the Predator 8 is just mind-blowing in my opinion and something never really seen in an Android based tablet.

The Predator 8 is not just a flat mobile device with a bit of a bevel, a screen, a few buttons along the side and everything else you normally see when it comes to a tablet. It actually looks like some high end device and the first thing that comes to my mind is that they took some ideas from AlienWare as far as product looks. All I can say is, this thing looks amazing and I want one and I want one NOW!

The Predator 8 includes a high-quality FHD display(1920 x 1200) for crystal clear viewing and incredible graphics, while Predator Quadio, four array front-facing speakers with virtual surround sound and red stainless steel mesh, deliver exceptionally realistic stereo audio.

In addition, Predator TacSense makes gaming more enjoyable and memorable, enhancing game play with tactile feedback. Thin and lightweight, the Predator 8 GT-810 is just 8.7mm thin(11/32 inches) and weighs only 350 grams(12.35 ounces), making it highly portable and easy to hold with either one or two hands. In addition, soft texturized panels on the back make it comfortable to hold and carry.

Gamers will appreciate the raw power found on the Predator 8. Then newest generation Intel Atom x7 Processor with Intel HD Graphics(Gen 8 -LP) deliver extraordinary graphics and performance, while 802.11a/b/g/n wireless with 2×2 MIMO supports fast connection speeds, processing data at up to twice the speed of traditional 1×1 solutions.

Predator TacSense provides tactile feedback which makes the game experience more engaging and enjoyable with a real sense of vibration.

And with up to 64GB of on-board storage and expansion capabilities via a microSD card of up to 128GB, gamers have room to take their games, videos and music with them wherever they go.

Acer has even teamed up with game creators Gameloft to fine-tune the mobile gaming experience. As a result of this collaboration, Gameloft’s Asphalt 8 racing game works seamlessly with the Predator TacSense to a bring realistic and immersive experience for gamers. Also as a result of this collaboration, the Predator 8 will come pre-loaded with Asphalt 8 and 32,000 worth of game credits, which is approximately a $50USD value.

Acer has also announced that it will offer a number of optional accessories available for the Predator 8 gaming tablet such as covers, carrying cases, a stylus, a travel adpater, SlimPort adapter dongle and even a gaming headset.

The gaming headset should be really interesting to see and to try as this will be something quite important for those gamers that do a lot of travelling to various gaming conferences and want to play their games on their flight but not disturb those around them.

Currently a full list of specs isn’t available at this time but with what we know the Predator 8 sounds like it could certainly be a possible game changer for mobile gaming. The Predator 8 will be available in the USA exclusively at Newegg for 2 weeks beginning November 6th, 2015 at a price of $299.99. After that two week exclusive period, it will be available nationwide at many retailers.

The Predator 8 will be available in EMEA in October with prices starting at €349, and in China with prices starting at ¥2499.
