When it comes to looking for the perfect cases, we can be pretty picky. The case can’t be too thick. It has to be slim and protective at the same time. The case needs to look great in the process, and turn heads while you’re out and about. All the ports must be easily accessible without any issues. There are times where we find a case that is beautiful, functional and protective. There are also times where we find a case that hits all the points, and has some additional functionality that we weren’t even aware of. This is the case with the Moshi iGlaze Napa.

Moshi’s iGlaze Napa is one of the premier cases to have that is on the market today. It features a vegan leather back, full protection around the edges, and more than enough room at the bottom of the case to use all the ports with ease. Sometimes we’ll run into issues with cases not having enough space to use any cables other than Apple’s Lightning cable, but that’s not the case with the iGlaze Napa.

The back of the Napa is inset with genuine leather, and comes in four different flavors:

  • Black
  • Tan
  • Red
  • Blue

Each of the leather backs are made from a “vegan leather backing” which is a fancy way to say “pleather” or “faux leather”. However, this backing feels as close to the real thing on just about any case I’ve used in the past. It has the same feeling as a “real” leather case, but you don’t have to worry about any animals being harmed in the process of making your case.

Moshi Napa Back

Now the back of the case has some unique features. First and foremost is the camera cut-out. Moshi claims that they have customized this cut-out to be “flash-friendly” so that you get the maximum flash while taking pictures. We have seen some camera cut-outs be problematic and make some images look absolutely awful. So it’s nice to see Moshi take the time to ensure the best experience with the Napa. Additionally, Moshi has put their branding on the back of the case, inset into the leather, but this addition isn’t one that is an eyesore. It’s very subtle and adds a little pop to the back of the case.

The rest of the Moshi Napa is a shock-absorbing hybrid construction. Usually when you see hybrid-constructions on cases, you’ll find two pieces that can be separated, like an Otterbox Commuter or Defender. That’s not the case with the Napa. There are multiple pieces that can be seen on the Napa, but those different sections of the case all combine to make one, and cannot be separated from each other.

The bumper of the Napa is plastic, with a metallic coating over top. This is just purely for the aesthetics of the case, and aren’t actually metal. While looking past the plastic bumper, there is a plastic inset that provides the bulk of the shock-resistance that were to occur if you ever dropped your precious iPhone.

For the final portion of the Moshi Napa that we haven’t covered yet; the inside of the case. There is a hole in the middle of the Napa that serves two purposes. The first of which is to show off that pretty Apple logo, and the other is something we’ll be getting into at a later date.

Moshi Napa Inside

Now with most cases, there’s not much protection against anything that may make it’s way in between the case and the back of your phone. However, Moshi covers this and the Napa does the best that it can with the inside of the Napa. The inner backing of the Napa is made out of a micro-fiber material that will not add any extra wear to your device, and also helps keep out any lints or anything that may make it’s way in.

Overall, the Moshi Napa is one of the best cases on the market, and it is priced as much. You can grab the Moshi iGlaze Napa directly from Moshi or from Amazon for $44.95. We know that’s a bit on the higher side of things, but when you look at the premium quality that you’re getting from Moshi, you’ll notice why it’s a bit pricey.

In the meantime, let us know what cases you’re using on your iPhones and whether you’ve actually considered using a leather case.

I currently carry an iPhone 6 and the Moto X 2014, but the Moto X is my current daily driver. I also have a Samsung Series 5 Laptop running Windows 10, and a 2010 15″ MacBook Pro. They claim that I may or may not be the Apple “guy” around here.
